Jack & Steph – The Dancefloor Swarm
Jack & Steph got married at the stunning Flowerdale Estate in Strath Creek. They had booked us for their entire day, performing for their ceremony, some summery acoustic tunes during their canapes, and then the full trio for their reception.
Having us play early in the day is always a nice way to introduce us to their guests, as well as a great way for us to get to know the crowd early on as well.
Their formalities were lovely, their speeches were exceptionally funny, and we had saved all of our Reception live sets until the end of the night as well.
When their first dance came around, you could sense a buzz in the air, and see all their guests itching to let their hair down and join the lovely couple. Jack and Steph chose the Queen song ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ for their first dance, foregoing the traditional bridal waltz for an instant party starter – and wow was it a great choice!
Once that first chorus had ended, Jack and Steph gave the signal to their guests and the swarm to join them on the dancefloor was absolutely unreal. Within 30 seconds every single guest was up dancing like no one was watching (as you can see in the photos!), and it stayed that way for the entire night!
Jack and Steph left us with these lovely words – “The Knots were absolutely incredible. They played the ceremony, canapé hour and the reception and smashed it out of the park. Easy, open communication to organise and book with Kieran. The dance floor had a rush at the start of their first set and we had everyone up and dancing all night. A massive set list with a wonderful variety of songs and we could not recommend these guys any higher and were a highlight for us and our guests. Nicola & Hassan – From Nerves To Elation
Nicola had been in touch with me often in the lead-up to her big day, a little nervous about being the centre of attention with Hassan for their ceremony, and wondering if her friends and family would make the most of the dance floor.
The ceremony took place at the stunning Echuca Docks, and while they were non-stop smiles and even giggles as they became husband and wife, we were able to create the perfect vibe with our acoustic tunes, including performing Callum Scott’s ‘You Are The Reason’ as the beautiful bride made her way down the aisle.
We had also been given the role of MC for the evening, making sure everything ran smoothly, and of course one of the biggest moments of the night is always the First Dance.
While the drinks were flowing, it was still quite early on, which meant some of her guests were preferring their seats at this stage. That’s where our MC preparation and encouragement, and Lauren’s infectious energy on the vocals kicked in, where we were able to get everyone up to join the couple on the dance floor, and the energy in the room shifted instantly – with laughter and cheers echoing around, and the atmosphere became electric.
By the end of the night, Nicola couldn’t have been more grateful, and even sent us a text message the very next morning – “Kieran!! You guys were so good, honestly such a vibe! You really made the reception – so fun and the atmosphere was the best. Thank you so much!”

Maggie & Mychael – The Country Charm
Maggie & Mychael nailed their Ultimate Country Farm style wedding – and it was such a blast!
From an open air style Chapel in the middle of a field on their Family Farm, to the Reception in the Traditional Style open Farmhouse, their wedding was absolutely one to remember!
We performed Ruelle’s ‘I Get To Love You’ as Maggie walked down the ‘aisle’, then also performed some lovely acoustic tunes to their guests as the VIPs had some photos taken.
The love from not only the couple, but their very close families was palpable, as Mychael performed a fully rehearsed dance with his lovely Mother, before taking his Bride Maggie onto the Dance floor as we performed ‘Dressed Up In White’.
Needless to say the love followed for the rest of the night, as Maggie & Mychael continued their perfect day, with these incredible photos captured by Adam from ‘Journey By Light’ photography.
Some very lovely words from the couple as well – “The greatest decision we made for our wedding was having The Knots celebrate with us! Kieran made the process so seamless from the initial discussions, to the final minute of the night. We were dancing all night long to the best playlist. Our friends and family all commented on The Knots amazing song choices and the amazing atmosphere they created on our BEST DAY EVER!!

Bryn & Emma – The Fairytale Wedding
Bryn & Emma had always pictured their own fairytale wedding, and we were lucky enough to help make their dreams come true.
Bryn was beaming from ear to ear as the gorgeous Emma made her way down the aisle in the lovely Chapel of Sault in Daylesford. During their signing we performed special arrangements of 2 of their favourite movie themes – ‘Edelweiss’ from ‘The Sound Of Music’, and ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’ in the style from ‘Across The Universe’. These songs perfectly captured the fairytale theme these 2 had dreamed of, and it setup such a lovely day ahead.
They had choreographed their own first dance together, as well as shared further dancing lessons to make the most of an energetic dancefloor which brought all the guests together.
The couple had also requested our classic rock and roll set lists, where we were able to keep them and their guests dancing on into the night.

Kara & Brendan - So Much Love
At the always stunning Harcourt Valley Winery – Kara & Brendan were preparing to say their vows, and we were all set to perform for this special day.
There was so much love in the air, and while Kara later on mentioned to us she was super nervous, she certainly didn’t show it, as she was beaming and full of confidence as she walked down the aisle to us performing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea’.
Jack Johnson’s classic ‘Better Together’ was their choice for their signing song, and we were then able to bring their ceremony home with ‘Green Green Grass’ by George Ezra as they walked back down together as a married couple.
You can tell from the photos that Kara was having an amazing time with her loved ones, and it was an absolutely pleasure to help create such a loving atmosphere.
Kara had these lovely words for us “Thank you so much and thank you for playing at our wedding you were both incredible everybody commented on how lovely it was! It was great I can’t believe the day went off without a glitch and we just had the most fun!!

Angela & Kyle – Time To Celebrate
Angela had spent the better part of 2 years planning her and Kyle’s perfect day, and as Kyle elegantly put it during his speech, he hadn’t planned a single part of their day!
Joking that Angela was his carer, Kyle was full of love and praise for the amazing wedding that his new wife had not only dreamed of, but also orchestrated.
At the incredible Mitchelton Winery, we were able to perform for their ceremony, and then entertain their guests at the reception as well.
Angela was lifted up by Kyle in what felt like a fitting way to celebrate her and everything she’d done to create their perfect day!
Not only did Kyle appreciate the day, their guests were up and singing to every song we performed as well, creating a very memorable atmosphere.
Angela sure made the most of the dance floor too, and after so much planning and details, she certainly was able to let her hair down and enjoy her perfect day!
