Music Style

Incorporating a mix of genres into an acoustic blend, such as Pop, Rock, RnB, Funk and Soul, we aim to please audiences young and old, from smooth background acoustic tunes, to upbeat dance-floor-fillers. With countless weddings played between us, we have developed a music style and repertoire to suit every audience.

While avoiding over-used, cliche cover band songs, we aspire to play crowd favourites with a difference, something fresh that you still know and love. With a huge collection of classic songs ranging from the 60’s until today, we have plenty of choice and experience when it comes to choosing the right song for the right moment.
You’re also more than welcome to customise our song list for your special day – choosing anything from a few favourites, to the best bands, to every song we play – the choice is yours.

With countless weddings played, we are experts in creating the perfect night of music, with those special and more intimate acoustic tunes at the beginning of the night, followed by Pop & Rock favourites to get everyone on the dancefloor!

Meet The Band

Katriona Crowe (Kat)

Vocals

riginally from the South of Ireland- Kat developed her passion for music at a very young age. Singing has always been her passion, she quickly picked up playing piano and started performing from there! She completed her bachelor of Arts Degree in Voice & Dance at Uni. Kat is a qualified vocal coach, has directed kids choirs and created vocal workshops at home to young aspiring singers. Kat has played countless weddings, local gigs and many other events, both as a solo artist and member of various bands.

Emily Therese

Vocals

As an accomplished weddings & events vocalist, Emily’s training and experience has exposed her to some of the best songs and music from around the world. She’s been performing since 2012 and is also a resident vocalist at Piano Bar venues across Victoria. From her vast performance experience from Piano Bar and other events, Em is an expert in pumping up the dance floor, and she sure knows how to entertain!

Lauren Dole

Vocals

Lauren grew up in country New South Wales with music in her veins, and was known by her friends as a karaoke machine – knowing the words to every song. She has always had a very passionate love for music, and sang with numerous cover bands throughout high school and the years to follow, delving into Rock, Pop, Soul and Country music.

Jessie Walsh

Vocals

Jessie, originally from New Zealand is a professionally trained vocalist with over 15 years of live performance experience. She grew up singing in various music groups and bands, performing at weddings, corporate events and music festivals across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Jessie has a broad music taste and is confident in covering a range of musical genres.

Rachael Grace

Vocalist

Classically Trained at Melbourne’s Renowned Conservatory and with 12 years professional performance experience, Rachael Grace’s powerful and soulful voice is no doubt a show stopper! With her bubbly stage personality, extensive song list and Piano Bar live experience, Rachael Grace is able to cater to diverse event atmospheres, from ambient intimate settings to the most energetic audiences.

Kieran McNamara

Guitar & Manager

Growing up listening to guitar greats Santana & Tommy Emmanuel, Kieran started learning guitar at 8 years old, and joined his first band at 16. He completed his Cert IV in Music at Victoria University in 2009, getting the opportunity to perform with many different musicians. He has both organised and played countless weddings, events and gigs over the last 12 years with various acts, and also runs his own guitar teaching business in Melbourne.

Tim Lukey

Guitar

Taking after his hero Tommy Emmanuel, Tim excels in fingerstyle guitar, adding a level of flair and polish to his performances with The Knots. Tim’s exceedingly varied performance career has seen him playing in Jazz Bands, Big Bands, Cover Bands, Punk Bands and Orchestras (Classical and Musical). As well as a love of performing, Tim has also composed and arranged music across a wide array of styles; Some of which include guitar quartets, full orchestra with choir and reduced orchestra accompanied by DJ.

Cameron Hayes

Guitar

Cameron’s whole life has revolved around music, and is usually lived with a guitar in hand. He has had an array of musical experiences, from busking on the streets of Fremantle at age 15, to studying music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, to living and working as a professional musician in London. Cameron loves working with all sorts of musicians in a variety of genres and line-ups, and always strives to have fun through playing and sharing music with others.

Hayden Collins

Drums & Percussion

Having worked in multiple music shops whilst studying primary music education at La Trobe University, Hayden joined The Knots with a wealth of performance experience. While Hayden has an infatuation for the heavier styles of music, and has performed with multiple rock & metal bands in the Bendigo & Melbourne areas, he is loving the vast array of songs and talented musicians that he is now playing with since joining The Knots.

Mitch Hudson

Drums & Percussion

Mitch has been drumming for over 15 years in various bands, covering many genres. Having a father who drummed in his early years, Mitch was almost born with a set of drumsticks in his hands. Inspired by the soulful drumming from Steve Jordan during his work with John Mayer, to the heavier rock drumming from Matt Sorum in Guns N Roses, Mitch prides himself on being versatile.

Danny Palmer

Drums & Percussion

Danny has been involved with music ever since he started learning the Piano at 9 years old. Playing all the way through High School including at VCE level, he also took up the drums in his teenage years. Performing mostly on drums in various bands, Danny has performed hundreds of weddings and events around the Bendigo area in the last 10 years.

Jeremy Schiftan

Drums & Percussion

Jeremy Schiftan is an award winning Australian drummer and graduate from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). Jeremy has over 15 years experience as both a live performer and recording artist with both local and international artists, spanning across over 45 projects and just about every genre you could think of. His experience and professionalism are another guarantee that The Knots will deliver a world class performance for your event or function.

Stevie Renee

Guest Vocalist

Stevie is the brilliant frontwoman of Daisy Chainsaw – a Shepparton based killer rock band, and occasionally lends her amazing vocal talent to The Knots, you can hear her versatile range in a promo video here

The band are available as a trio (Vocals, Guitar, Drums/Percussion) or as a duo (Vocals & Guitar).

While all of our amazing vocalists sing in the same style and the same songs, you are welcome to request a specific singer for your day – and if they’re available we’ll book them in! If they are sick or unable to make your day, another singer will take her place on your day (and we’ll certainly let you know).
